About FreedomShop
FreedomShop is free, open-source point of sale for small shops. It's made by Jody Grafals, the founder of TechQuest, an IT company based in Queensbury, New York that works with clients anywhere, remotely.
Who makes it
Jody founded TechQuest in 1998, and has kept small businesses' networks, servers and security running ever since. FreedomShop and its sister project, FreedomBooks (free accounting for small businesses), are the software he wanted those businesses to have: free to use, open source, and kept on their own hardware.
